With a BFA in design and over 17 years working as a designer, Michelle brings her knowledge of space and design aesthetic to every client’s project. Her keen sense of style and approach to design, via listening and collaboration with her clients, allows the client’s signature style to come to life in a tangible way. She understands the importance of ensuring the client’s vision is reflected in every project, creating spaces that her client’s will love to live in.

What is the process for working with Signature Design Builds?
Everything starts with a conversation. You can fill out the form on our website, send us an email or reach out via phone. We will begin the process by identifying your goals and project needs. From there we will collaborate with you to create a budget and design that fits your unique project. We will be in constant communication throughout the process to ensure transparency.
Is there a minimum project size you’re willing to take on?
No job is too big or too small. We have done a single bathroom and a full house remodel, and everything in between. The goal is to bring our expertise and professionalism to every job we do, no matter the size and scope.
How is Signature Design Builds different than other General Contracting companies?
We are so much more than your average GC. While many GC’s will work with a designer of your choice, they don’t bring one to the very first meeting! Your designer & contractor have worked together on countless projects and speak the same language. That benefits our clients on many levels, not the least of which is collaboration and communication. Our designer will help you navigate the important decisions of your project, ensure your selections will fit within the constraints of the space and communicate with you through the production phase of your project. They will keep your budget updated and your project on track so that you always know where things stand along the way.
How are your fees structured and the payment terms?
Similar to other companies, we charge a Project Management Fee of 20% of the total budget of your project. The difference is you aren’t paying a designer a separate fee. Our designer’s fee is built-into your project cost, not in an additional line item on your budget. We require an initial deposit of 25% of your preliminary project cost. Additional invoices will be billed at the time of completion of project trades (electrical, drywall, tile, paint, etc.). Change orders will impact the final bill and will be communicated with updated estimates. Your initial deposit will be applied to the final invoice and any outstanding amount will be due within 30 days of project completion.
